With a versatile and lightweight design, this radio is customized to meet the demanding needs of wildland firefighting. It provides maximum reliability in remote operations with an AA battery pack. The radio is available in five colors.

  • Maximum Connectivity: The TP9800 connects to a wide range of networks used in current operations or future technology migrations, including Conventional Analog, P25 Conventional Digital, P25 Trunking Phase 1 and Phase 2. It also supports integrated GNSS for location services, Bluetooth® for wireless accessories, and WiFi OTAP. Analog signaling options include Two Tone decode, MDC1200, Selcall, and user-selectable picklists for PL (CTCSS) and DPL (DCS).
  • Exceptional Audio Quality: The radio features a powerful 3W speaker and dual microphone active noise cancellation, ensuring clear communication even in the most extreme environments.
  • Enhanced Worker Safety: Standard safety features include Man Down and Lone Worker, which send automated safety alerts. These can be combined with location data and Tait GeoFencing software for effective response. The programmable emergency key can also send these safety alerts manually.
  • Rugged AA Battery Pack: The easily replaceable AA batteries keep the TP9800 powered through extended remote area operations. The Tait clamshell battery pack is designed to withstand knocks and minimize dust and water ingress.
  • Ergonomic Design: Designed for easy use in emergency situations, the TP9800 features ergonomic, easy-grip controls, four programmable function keys, a three-way selector, and a range of accessories to tailor the user experience.
  • Field Programmable: Authorized users can program the TP9800 via the front panel to set channel information and easily configure picklists for CTCSS or DCS subaudible tones and NAC codes. With radio cloning, zone information can be shared throughout your fleet.
  • Proven P25 Interoperability: The TP9800 supports multi-agency response and multi-vendor compatibility for voice, data, and encryption methods. It is approved by the TIA-102 P25 Compliance Assessment Program.
